What are the Dimensions of the InSinkErator Evolution Comapct? (simple Answer)

12 1/4" high and 8 3/4 wide
The InSinkErator Evolution compact garbage disposal is made to be a smaller form unit that can fit better under your kitchen sink. Though in comparison to other disposals, it's not dramatically smaller. The Compact measures 12.25" x 8.75".
The InSinkErator Evolution Compact garbage disposal is actually just slightly smaller than other InSinkErator units. For example, the Evolution Excel is just barely larger, running about 13" x 9" which is a minimal difference compared to the Compact.
In fact, disposals from the Badger series are roughly the same size, if not smaller.
For example, the Badger 1 is 12 5/8" inches high, with a smaller grind chamber capacity of about 26 oz.

The capacity of the Evolution Compact is 34.6 oz.

So I would pump the brakes just a little bit on the "compactness" of the Evolution Compact model. It's a great disposal, and I'm not trying to say it's a bad option at all. But a closer inspection shows it's not really that compact, unless you're comparing it to other models in the Excel series.
Even then, the difference is pretty small.

Will it work for a smaller cabinet?
When it comes to a garbage disposal installation, I think cabinet size is less of an issue than you might think.
Keep in mind, your sink will likely have more to say about it than your cabinets do.
- Consider distance between bottom of sink and floor
- Consider width of cabinet
- Consider overall heigh of cabinet
If you do have smaller cabinets, just make sure to measure the width and height, which should give you plenty of room, especially in houses built more recently. The most common width measurements, according to Home Depot, are 30 and 36 inches.
In either case that's plenty of width, where the disposal won't even take up a third of the space.
Cabinet height will vary, but usually falls between 24 and 36 inches. Above 30 inches is common. Measure from the bottom of your sink to the floor of the cabinet. It's very unlikely that will be less than 12 inches.
The point being, whether you go with the Evolution Compact or something else, you're unlikely to have issues getting it to fit.
Your Questions
But again: Measure a lot.
Consult a professional if you're not sure. A plumber or general contractor could tell you pretty quickly. I have to say that, even though I doubt you'll have any trouble with the space. The Compact will give you another inch or two, but measure first and then make your call.
We cover plenty of other garbage disposal options if you plan to go in a different direction.
If you have questions about the Evolution Compact dimensions or something else, perhaps a different disposal, drop it in the comments section below.
We'll help out as much as possible.
See you there.
